Basketball Rules

2010 Season

1. Games start at 4:00pm, 5:00pm, 6:00pm, 7:00pm and 8:00pm

2. Games will be divided into two (2) twenty minute halves, with the clock stopping for the last two (2) minutes of the final half. If a team leads by 20+ points in the second half the clock will not stop.

3. Ten (10) minutes from the scheduled start time will be allowed before a team forfeits. Four (4) qualified players must be present to avoid a forfeit.

4. All-American Sports Recreation will provide certified referees.

5. A player and / or team may be expelled from the league for fighting or unsportsmanlike conduct.

6. Teams forfeiting two games in one season will be disqualified from play for the remainder of the season.

7. Forfeits result in damaging a league and causes inconsistency, any team that is disqualified will have to apply for reinstatement the following year.

8. No physical or verbal abuse toward the referee’s. Violators will be expelled from the league.

9. Two technical fouls in one game will result in an ejection from that game, plus a one game suspension. The player may attend the suspended game(s).

10. ALL players NOT wearing a league-supplied shirt prior to the tip must purchase a shirt from the scorekeeper for $25.00. Player’s cannot play without a league supplied 2010 jersey. All players must wear gym shorts.

11. Each team is allowed two (2) time-outs per half and the time-outs cannot be carried over into the second half or overtime. One time-out is allowed per overtime. Only players on the floor may call a time-out.

12. Each overtime period will consist of three (3) minutes, with the clock stopping the final minute of the period.

13. Each team will receive free pitchers of beer/soda @ Best Damn Sports Bar after each game. Three pitchers for each team. Pitchers cannot be carried over to the next game.

14. The playoffs will consist of the top six teams plus two teams from the play-in games. Seed seven vs seed ten and seed eight vs seed nine will play for the right to enter the playoffs. Playoffs will be a single elimination format on Sunday evenings until the finals (best of three). Each player must play in (1 sec. of clock) 5 games to become eligible for the playoffs. Injuries will be treated on an individual basis.

15. Back court will be the opposing teams foul-line extended.

16. Only two former college players will be allowed on each team. The players must be over 30 years of age! In addition NO former division one (D1) players allowed. Exceptions may be made and will be considered on a case by case basis.

17. The team registration fee is $550.00! A minimum of six players and a maximum of eight players per team. Teams may not add players after game three (3).

18. High School rules will be used except for the rules listed above and the free throw rule.

HIGHLIGHTS:

You may not enter inside the three point circle until the foul shot hits the rim.

Free throws - players may enter the lane on the release of the ball.

All shooting fouls will result in free throws.

Non-Shooting fouls;
Seven team fouls result in a one-and-one!
Ten team fouls result in two shots!

Five personal or two (2) technical fouls on any one player, and the player is ineligible to finish the game.

Lane one / players may use the box on foul shots (one foot)
